Yeah, they are quite slow. Actually digging a bit, I see experimental support for xenial has appeared last month: https://blog.travis-ci.com/2018-11-08-xenial-release However might take some time to migrate our CI onto it, so if the Trusty packages could be kept for some time, that would be appreciated.
