ok - budgie-desktop-common has a dependency on qt5-style-plugins - the package also adds these two environment variables as part of the login to ensure QT theming works
export QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE= export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2 Will need to take a close look to see if qt5ct is a better replacement for the above. ** Changed in: ubuntubudgie Status: New => Triaged ** Also affects: budgie-desktop-environment (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: budgie-desktop-environment (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** No longer affects: ubuntubudgie -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Budgie Developers, which is subscribed to budgie-desktop-environment in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1765976 Title: Please guys, I'm making a pull and exchange request... Status in budgie-desktop-environment package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Can you please replace the packages "qt5-style-plugins" and "qt5-gtk- platformtheme" with the "qt5ct" package? I know we're mostly on a GTK page here, but there are some QT apps like KDEnlive that are unrivalled by anything GTK based at the moment. To have granular control of QT theming and rendering to match in Ubuntu Budgie. Your attention to detail on clean, on point, on trend design, is the very essence of what makes this such a fantastic, beautiful Ubuntu flavour. It's a very simple replacement, but if it's really too late to change it completely, just remove the "budgie-desktop-common" and "budgie- desktop-environment" dependencies so we at least have the choice. Thanks guys, great work...
