This is a new computer with a Wolfdale 1333-D667 R2.0 motherboard with BIOS p1.4 (Intel dual core processor) Tried with all versions from 7.04 to the latest (kubuntu/xubuntu also tried) and the installation goes through untill the selection of disks to make the partitions, it shows no disks and a list of controllers to chose from. tried booting with: linux noapic=off linux all-generic-ide irqpoll also fiddled about with the BIOS options for the controller, there's an Enhanced Mode (Win Xp-2000) and Legacy Mode (DOS, WNT) tried both. Windows XP SP2 worked perfectly.
