I don´t know your problem, but just download the right ISO from here
http://www.releases.ubuntu.com and burn it. I can´t imagine you have a
problem with this.
If so, download an older version like 8.04.2.
If that doesn´t work. Buy new hardware. All the files I spoke about are
ok.
