Hi , I've updated to ubuntu 9.04 from 8.04 there was an effect that when the < alt +mouse scroll> combination was used it caused the active window to fade in and out. I tried keyboard shortcuts but as soon as I rolled the scroll on the mouse the option went back to disabled.
