However, I'm still lost a bit.
With your help I managed to sudo mount the "CD" so that I can now see
nine *.rpm files and the install.sh file in Location: /media/cdrom0.
I (graphically) told it to "run" (by right-clicking or other), but
nothing seemed to have happened / changed...

NB: I'm using Microsoft Virtual PC ((( _not_ vbox or virtualbox ))).

>From the Microsoft website I downloaded a 32bit msi installer, so I
don't think I need to specify that in the installation again.
Would it help, if I copy-and-pasted the official Microsoft readme file
(with installations instructions for other Linux distributions) here?
