"Package samba is not available, but is referred to by another package. This
may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available
from another source
However the following packages replace it: smbclient samba-common"
http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/samba-common
This package (samba-common) contains files and programs needed by Samba when
used as
either a client or a server.
sudo aptitude install smbclient samba-common
