Question #77279 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77279
Summary changed to: Arabic Characters appear when i type on username and in command line programs since upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 from 8.10 Description changed to: I bought a mesh computer recently which comes with ubuntu 8.10, i used the upgrade manager which upgraded me to 9.04. but since the up grade my keyboard (have tried both wireless and wired) seems to type in arabic, as such i cant log on to unbuntu since it wont recognise my username and password. also when i manage to get to a command prompt style screen, it will also write in arabic. However i can use a Knoppix CD and the keyboard language types in english on Knoppix 6.0. I have managed to edit the xorg.conf file after mounting the hard drive. However after inserting a the xkblayout commands into the xorg.conf, there is no change. I have tried replacing the xorg.conf file (kept a copy) with a the xorg.conf file from Knoppix, also with little luck. Any ideas anyone? -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
