--before logging in there are options in the down-left corner   of the screen. 
And there you can try Choose Language.


-- I suppose yot are getting to a console choosing this at       boot Recovery 
Mode:

      - it asks for the ROOT password, not for your User one.         They are 
sometimes different. Do you have it? If no           try with the user one.
      - if you have a working password you can enter it by            holding 
Alt-key and typing on the numpad some digits.         Alt-048 means zero (0), 
Alt-049 one (1) ... ... -057          is 9. The letters: Alt-065 is A, -66 is 
B,... ... -90         is Z, -097 is a, -098 is b ... ... -122 is z.
