New question #77448 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77448

I have a problem when using the restricted display drivers on my laptop. The
problem is; I can't adjust the backlight brightness of my screen. There is no
problem if don't use the restricted drivers but this time, the visual quality
gets too low. So, how can I make backlight brightness adjustable with
restricted drivers?

Here are some information about my system:

Laptop Model: Toshiba Tecra S10-11A
Graphics Card: Nvidia Quadro NVS 150M
Nvidia Driver Version: 180.44
Ubuntu Version: 9.04
