Question #77248 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77248
George proposed the following answer: An review on Amazon.co.uk says this printer works on Ubuntu using drivers from Brother <http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R3UG3XTTOCP2Y5/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm>. I have noticed over the years that large vendors often provide drivers for linux on support sites outside the USA. Since we all know M$ would never be allowed to pressure vendors to drop support for non-M$ OS's in North America, I can't explain these curious omissions. If you can't get .deb packages from Brother you can try <http://www.howtoforge.com/converting_rpm_to_deb_with_alien>. I used this to make .deb files for Canon drivers but I also had to use symbolic links to "rename" some libraries to the names used in the binaries. -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
