ok, so it's not a caching problem
please try this leaving the SD mounted
sudo touch /media/NINTENDO/a
this will create an empty file called "a" on /dev/sdb1
if it returns an output pls oaste it here
ls -lh /mnt/NINTENDO to check if the file exist
