midnightflash proposed the following answer:
Press [Esc] at the very early start to get the boot-menu.
There select the "recovery" one and let it boot.
Then when you finally see a black screen with a command-line type:
passwd [USERNAME]
(while [USERNAME] is the name you have)
The system will ask you to insert the new password twice.
Then type:
shutdown -r now
and see if it works.
