Question #77699 on firefox-3.0 in ubuntu changed:

    Status: Needs information => Open

Greg Huff gave more information on the question:
Hello and thank you for responding so quickly.  About the only thing I
use is e-mail and just do some casual web browsing.  I am a registered
skype user but I have never used it.  When I am on line with firefox I
have started getting "chat" messages which annoy me greatly.  Also, I
have had people send me e-mails saying "I noticed you were on line so I
thought I would send you an e-mail."  There must be some way to block
people from being able to tell you are on line.

Thanks again for you response and your help!
