onar99 proposed the following answer:
Looks like there is problem with graphic configuration-xconfig--reboot
in safe mode and select the graphic option to create a new xconfig and
see if that helps.
Have you tried hardware option from the system menu, to see if there are
better driver available for your graphic card.
