And I should have been more clear myself too.
Try the "Income and Expenses this year" report. It is in the Income and
Expenses group.
That report does not list transactions. If you don't want to see individual
categories, you can click on the Customize button. go to the Row/Column tab and
change the level of detail to Group.
I think that should do what you want.
This applies to version 0.9.2 and above.
