Question #78118 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78118
Tom proposed the following answer: So this is a 2.4GHz cpu with still the standard 256Mb ram? If you have upgraded to 512Mb or the maximum it can cope with which is 1Gb total ram then ubuntu should be fine but at 256Mb Ubuntu is really not going to be able to cope. Please try Xubuntu instead, that should be fine :) http://www.xubuntu.org/get Hardware manufacturers are really odd. 2.4GHz is a pretty much top-end machine but 256Mb drops it right down and for £40 more on ram they could surely have sold this for a huge amount more <shrugs> On the other hand it's nice to be able to significantly boost performance just a few months after buying it Thanks, good luck and regards from Tom :) -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
