Question #78748 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78748

    Status: Open => Answered

Tom proposed the following answer:
Using a LiveCd go up to the top taskbar and click on

Applications - Accessories - Terminal

and type in

sudo grub

which should take you to the grub command-line rather than the normal
linux one you were just on. Onto the grub command-line type

find /boot/grub/stage1

(or paste it with the mouse. ^v doesn't work but mouse paste is always good)
and just giv us the results of that in here ;)
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
