I'm not familiar with kurzweil, so can't say myself. There are emulators for dos (dosbox is nice), programs like Wine (which will run a lot of windows applications) and even things like qemu that emulate a whole PC within Linux - idea being you could run Windows itself under Linux and anything that runs on it.
