drskartik posted a new comment: Hi! Tom, I finally installed Jaunty following your steps. The transition was smooth and most of the problems which I had with Hardy: wifi, multimedia video and audio were sorted out. It took a couple of hours to get going (like installing medibuntu repository for multimedia, making wifi work), and finally I had a' functional' OS. Probably my previous experience with Hardy has helped. I realised that an Internet connection is an must for ubuntu. Overall I have found the experience with Jaunty better than Hardy. I plan to gradually switch over to Jaunty, try out all the applications ther. One more thing: shall I persist with Hardy or remove it?
