New question #79152 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/79152

I am keen on starting using Ubuntu, am a beginner and have installed ubuntu
9.04 on my Toshiba A200 laptop. It is dual booting with Vista. Wireless card is
built in. When I use wireless under Vista, I get wireless signal and the range
is about 25 metres. However under Ubuntu using rtl8187b(same as Vista) wireless
only works at a close range of 1 metre. If I go further then that, drops
connection.

I will be grateful for comments on why is this so and how I can get same or
near same wireless coverage range that I get when using Vista. I hope this
issue can be resolved thereby allowing me to use Ubuntu.
