TuxMachine proposed the following answer:
If you are running ubuntu, install partition editor "gparted", which can be
installed Applications-->add and remove then type gparted
Which should allow you to modify partitions
Every Ubuntu disk is a bootable except (alternate cd)
Can I ask you what kind of problems you are facing with Ubuntu
currently?
