Err, i wouldn't bother with uninstalling Evolution until you had a good
go with Thunderbird (or/and Claws). as you've found Evolution is a bit
stuck into the mx and trying to remove is something best left until
sometime a lot later and only then if forced to. So, had you normal
emails all gone to your junk folders by mistake then?
