Of course yes, like ubuntu.
If it's a MacIntel, it would be working, but about the PowerPCs, I don't know
if we have an ISO, but ubuntuGNOME would be to slow on them, so anyway I will
suppose you have a MacIntel.
Before install:
Download the 64bits iso.
Find a nice blogpost about installing Ubuntu on a mac; it's (almost) the same
thing when you install it.
During install:
Follow the blog post
So of course, yes you can install UbuntuGNOME on a mac, it's quite easy.
