If Ubuntu works on your laptop, Ubuntu GNOME will most likely do as well. I
recommend to look for a Macbook 11.3" howto for Ubuntu; it will probably
involve using a LiveUSB. Testing the LiveUSB will allow you to test if all
your hardware works well under Ubuntu GNOME.
