Hello, I am emailing with regards to the Upgrade Testing update on the Ubuntu Gnome homepage. I would first like to say that I love Ubuntu Gnome and that it has vastly improved my quality of living and productivity, making a very enjoyable experience out of Ubuntu and Linux for myself. I updated my laptop (Lenovo W510) from Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 to Ubuntu 14.04 via Terminal using the command "update-manager -d". It was a seamless and hassle free experience that for the last couple of hours has yielded no issues. I was most impressed by the fact that the Nvidia drivers encountered no issues in the upgrade and that I did not have to change any settings post process. I would also like to make a note to a fix of what I consider to be a significant annoyance in 13.10 where in the top right of the Gnome Shell where the shutdown, volume, and network indicators lie. If you clicked on the network button in 13.10 and clicked network settings nothing would happen, requiring that you go into system settings and then network, 14.04 fixed that allowing for more specific network options based on your connections and the need to go through system settings is no longer needed.
This is all I can really think of currently. I hope that my input is of use to you and your team. I would like to extend my appreciation and gratitude to the work that the Ubuntu Gnome team has made, it means a lot. If I can be of further assistance or provide more information feel free to contact me at the email I am sending from. -- Very Respectfully, CDT Cunningham -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugnome-qa Post to : ubuntugnome-qa@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugnome-qa More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
