Dear all,
Now that Ubuntu GNOME Utopic Unicorn Alpha 1 was released [1], we are
back to test the daily builds [2].
Whether you're NEW to testing or not, kindly help yourself and read:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/Testing
If you have any Q, kindly ask :)
As for Ubuntu GNOME QA Team [3] Activities, yet again, this team is
suffering from a serious issue that is 'Internal Communications' :)
It is either that everything is fine so that no communications at all
between the members of that team OR no one is doing anything. Either
way, something is wrong and must be addressed.
I do hope you have seen this:

If truth to be told, I have NO idea who could help with this as I
don't know who is the most active tester for Ubuntu GNOME because
he/she is silent and communicate less :)
I think I've probably been one of the most active members of Ubuntu
GNOME testing, but I want to be sure and thank all of those who have
participated in milestone iso-testing. The more the merrier.
I haven't had much to say about Utopic because it's far too early in the
dev cycle to start screaming and yelling yet, but I've also been avidly
testing Ubuntu GNOME Trusty since 14.04.1 is tentatively planned for
release July 24th (less than 4 weeks from now).
Since Trusty is an LTS we mustn't forget those milestones, and we should
all try to review any and all outstanding Trusty bugs and try to address
them as best we can. Of course that means new release notes too, mostly
a copy-n-paste, but maybe someone with more experience can give this a look:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1307776
I suspect an issue related to X, probably effecting Intel i915 graphics,
so it would be helpful if someone besides John could help with that.
Maybe help search cross-stream and see if any other flavors are
effected? Maybe it has nothing to do with 'gdm'?
Regarding the need for an "acting" QA Team Leader I'm hesitant to
volunteer for health reasons:
(1) I can't communicate via IRC chat. I suffered quite extensive
neurological damage in late 2001 due to meningo-encephalitis which
effects my vision, hearing, and the speed with which I'm able to process
communications in general.
(2) I was hospitalized April 22nd because my atrial fibrillation got
totally out of control, then hospitalized again May 22nd with a mild
stroke, but I'm slowly getting back up-to-speed.
While I do appreciate ALL the efforts you have put so far, we as a
team need to communicate between each other and therefore, we do have
a team on Launchpad and a Mailing List [4] :)
You see, many changes are happening within Ubuntu GNOME community and
if I have to, I'm ready to do a full re-structure to our Sub-Teams [5]
if I really have to. Some Sub-Teams are NOT working as a team at all.
This is not good nor helpful.
I hope you see my point here. We must work as a team, period.

*That said, members of Ubuntu GNOME QA Team are kindly required to
'Reply' this email so that I prepare a list of those who are active
and call them for a meeting.*
What I have in mind right now is to do a strict exception that
membership of Ubuntu GNOME QA Team will no longer be 90 days but
rather 30 days.
Whatever you and Tim decide is OK with me.
For more details, please read:

Kindly treat this email as a very important and I'm waiting for your
replies.
Thanks!
