I almost forget about it myself and haven't checked that in sometime.

You are right. Logging into the 'Classic Mode' is no difference and it
shows the same desktop as the default mode so this is clearly a bug.

The latest build is: 13-Oct-2014 i368 and it has that bug.

Haven't yet tested amd64 though!
