Same here, I'm writing this post at the amazing speed of 0.3 keys / second.
It happens randomly but quite often.
The only solution so far is log out / log in gnome session.
Resetting via alt-F2 r doesn't work either.

  Laptop keyboard stops working randomly

  New

Bug description:
  I'm working on a hp-compaq 6710b laptop, my problem is that about twice a day 
the keyboard stops working during the gnome session, while using it.
  Mouse works, so I have to close the session, return at logon screen and the 
keyboard begins to work again.
  I didn't notice a particular event that triggers this behaviour, apparently 
it happens randomly.
  Please tell me if I can give some kind of detail
