I 've installed ubuntu gusty gibbon. It does not 've any packages or codecs. So, i connected to the Airtel broadband internet connection.After connecting the ethernet cable in the port at the back, the exclamation mark disappears after a few seconds. But when i open the firefox browser and request any url, it says that the server could not be found. I 've given correct address only and I ensured it. Now, i doubt that there is some problem in the connection. But i am not able to find it out. The data signal alone doesn't work in the modem. That's why i doubt the network settings.The modem I use is 'Beetel' 220BX1 ADSL2 + MODEM.
