Songbird is interesting and shows potential, but in my experience it's still a little too unstable for everyday use.
Using an iPod with Linux used to be a nightmare - there was always a very good chance that you'd end up corrupting the silly Apple database on the iPod and end up having to do a restore, but the various app developers seem to have cracked that one so now most decent Linux media players will support it properly. Tbh, I really wish the effort to port Amarok to windows hadn't fizzled out as I think it's a far superior player to anything currently available. Persevere. It'll be worth it :) RM On Jan 25, 6:06 pm, NumPy <[email protected]> wrote: > On Jan 24, 6:34 pm, DaveDog <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > The other option of course is to issue the ultimatium... either XP > > goes or I do... > > > Seriously - I'll give Amarok a try. > > > D. > > > On Jan 25, 11:37 am, NumPy <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > On Jan 24, 4:23 pm, Christopher Stamper <[email protected]> > > > wrote: > > > > > On Sat, Jan 24, 2009 at 5:12 PM, DaveDog <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > > I really really want to start using Ubuntu at home - trouble is my > > > > > wife and kids all have iPods and want to keep using iTunes - what can > > > > > I do? > > > > > They say that an older version of iTunes (7?) works with Wine.
