Hi, I am doing some programming work with two colleagues, and we are experimenting with working on an Ubuntu server via SSH. Right now our setup is very rudimentary -- we are all using the same username and password, and just store our individual projects in different subdirectories of $HOME. So far we haven't been touching each other's code, but this may change in the future. I know this isn't a good setup for a number of reasons. I would like to assign us all different usernames, use "groupadd" to make us part of a shared group, and so on. Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial or guide to collaborative work on Linux? I'm thinking of things like best practices for setting permissions, where to store code (under /home or somewhere else?), and so on.
