1. The version of lucene2 in PPA is: 2.3.1+ds1-1ubuntu1~ppa1
What is the version of lucene2 that's in zekr_0.7.0beta1 ?
2. On the mailing list you assumed that liblucene2 is the culprit, yet
not only liblucene2 were taken out of SF's zekr package, actually
all libraries (apache commons, liblog4j & velocity) except for swt
were taken out of SF's zekr package. Could it be that one of them
is the reason of this problem ?
3. On the mailing list you forwarded upstream's (Mohsen) response that
he sees that the problem is NOT related to lucene2 but he suggests
that it is JVM related. You made a point that the problem doesn't
arise with SF's zekr package, which most probably rules out the
possibility that it is JVM related. So that brings me back to point
(2) that it could be related to one of the other libraries (apache
commons, liblog4j & velocity).

doesn't work properly.

The original package provided here
<http://superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/zekr/zekr_0.7.0beta1-1_all.deb>
which contains all the libraries doesn't have the issue.
