as-salamu alaykom, Few days ago, I found out that the UbuntuME DVD contains software like Skype and Acrobat Reader. Aren't we supposed to get the approval from the copyright holders of such software ? If yes, and if we do not have such approval, then we should remove this software for several reasons: 1. It can get us into legal problems that we really don't need now. 2. We are using Ubuntu's name, hence such a thing could hurt Ubuntu's reputation, and such copyright issues will make them ask us to drop the word Ubuntu from our distro. name in order to not harm their reputation.
Which again brings up the issue of the wallpapers and bism'Illah audio files that we are using. Who are the copyright holders of those files, and what is the license of those files ?!!!! -- أحمد المحمودي (Ahmed El-Mahmoudy) Digital design engineer SySDSoft, Inc.
