You should post some screenshots for people who don't have time to
follow your procedure ;)
@ahmed: should we make other packages for alternate themes, splash,
gdm etc. or embed them in the existing ubuntume packages and just
change the selected by default?

ssalam alakom,
Following is a link for a suggested theme:
http://dudesblog.net/wwwdudesblognet/software/downloads.html?func=download&fileid=20
Installation(sorry if it is too detailed but am trying to write a read me
file as will!):
1. unpack the archive.
2. run the install.sh from the Terminal(this will install most of the
theme but not all of it as am still working on it).
3. now you need to enable the theme by going to : System --> Preferences
--> Appearance, and select the ubuntume-alt theme which will
suggest a font
and a background. accept them!
4. now to add the splash screen it is in the
ubuntume-alt/Splash/splash.tar.gz, you can set it up by using ubuntu tweak
--> startup.
5. For the emeraled theme it is installed but we need to enable it too,
right click on compiz fusion icon and select Emerald theme manager. it is
called Soft&Clear.
6. for the GDM it is already installed but you need to select it. System
--> Administration --> login window, it is called ubuntume-alt!
7. Finally the uSplash is in ubuntume-alt/Usplash/ add it usinf startup
manager. System --> Administration --> StartUp-Manager.
8. Restart!
Please Advice to make any changes that will make it better, also if anyone
can help me to make the installation easier please step foreward :)
wassalam.
