Hi Gents, I wonder if in the new release UbuntuStudio 14.04.01 the issue of the Kernel Panic was addressed?
Please let me be on top of this and let me know. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TrustyTahr/ReleaseNotes/ChangeSummary/14.04.1 http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntustudio/releases/14.04/release/ubuntustudio-14.04.1-dvd-amd64.iso http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntustudio/releases/14.04/release/ubuntustudio-14.04.1-dvd-i386.iso On 4/26/14, Len Ovens <[email protected]> wrote: > On Sat, 26 Apr 2014, ma bishe wrote: > >> Public bug reported: >> >> I am reporting what should be considered a CRITICAL bug. > > Do you by chance have an nvidia graphics card? Matching subscriptions: UbuntuStudio Bugs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313110 Title: Kernel panic - no booting Status in Ubuntu Studio: New Bug description: I am reporting what should be considered a CRITICAL bug. I used UBUNTU STUDIO in the past (last version 13.10) with no problem. I love UBUNTU STUDIO and used it also to clean Hard disk with installed on it windows. Because I used in the past with no problem (last version 13.10. I would consider that the equipment is "UBUNTU certified" - laptop Lenovo E420 11A41. The new release 14.04 will NOT boot from LIVE DVD. It reports (in both releases 64.32 bits) after about about 7 minutes using 64 bit DVD KERNEL PANIC, and will take for ages the boot with 32 bit with no response. I would recommend that this release be reconfigured, recompiled and released after the correction. The kernel panic reports something like error 970.xxxxxxxxxx RAM 8 GB CPU intel M2410 (quad) Due to this BUG this release is useless. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntustudio/releases/14.04/release/ubuntustudio-14.04-dvd-amd64.iso http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntustudio/releases/14.04/release/ubuntustudio-14.04-dvd-i386.iso I used in the past the Ubintu Studio with this hardwaere with no probleb.
