I am using the jackd firewire back end and qjackctl, or (mainly) claudia (from the kxstudio repositories) . The problem was in both instances, jackd would not start again, and I could not restart a claudia-studio
Using claudia and having a running studio, only jackdbus shows up running ps x, using qjackctl, in settings I had disabled jackdbus by default, only jackd shows up. I've tested another situation, because a minute ago the problem showed up again, without pulseaudio-module-jack installed. In this case I had turned on my firewire device after boot. I could start it perfectly, do some work, stopped claudia and tried to start again, without success. After a reboot having my firewire device on before booting, the issue disappeared. I could start jackd and a claudia-studio again after having stopped it. Previously I probably had kept my audiofire12 on after rebooting when I had uninstalled pulseaudio-module-jack, so I figured it must have been that, but obviously I was wrong. grtz, Bart http://www.bartart3d.be/ On Twitter <https://twitter.com/#%21/Bart_Issimo> On Identi.ca <http://identi.ca/bartart3d> On Google+ <https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/116379400376517483499/> 2015-08-15 5:15 GMT+02:00 Len Ovens <[email protected]>: > Are you using the alsa firewire modules or the jackd firewire back end? > > Are you starting jack with qjackctl or from commandline? > > Does ps x show jackd or jackdbus (or both). > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1484627 > > Title: > jackd won't start again in the same session after having exited > > To manage notifications about this bug go to: > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntustudio/+bug/1484627/+subscriptions > -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu Studio.
