Title: Configurable default save directory Status in gimp package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)" $ dpkg -l *gimp* | grep ii ii gimp 2.4.4-1ubuntu1 The GNU Image Manipulation Program ii gimp-data 2.4.4-1ubuntu1 Data files for GIMP ii gimp-gnomevfs 2.4.4-1ubuntu1 GNOME-VFS URI plugin for GIMP ii gimp-help-common 2.4.0-2 Data files for the GIMP documentation ii gimp-python 2.4.4-1ubuntu1 Python support and plugins for GIMP ii libgimp2.0 2.4.4-1ubuntu1 Libraries for the GNU Image Manipulation Pro The default directory to save files in the GIMP is in the users home directory. i.e. /home/bob/ I propose to change it, to the "Pictures" subdirectory which already exist. So it gets saved to /home/bob/Pictures/ Else, why do we have "Pictures", "Videos", "Music" and "Documents" directory in our home directory, if they are not for use?
