scribus 1.5.0 is considered "unstable" by upstream, while the 1.4.x is the stable branch, and that one is actually up-to-date.
I was instead pondering about resurrecting the scribus-ng package and uploading 1.5.0 as that package, and let the two being co-installable. Furthermore, consider that files saved with 1.5.0 are not granted to be usable with 1.4.x.
