Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since
that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some
of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently
supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly
upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect <bug #>

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Title:
Blender wont open, and logs out the computer when used in terminal.

Status in blender package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: blender

I am using Ubuntu Karmic with version 2.49a+dfsg-0ubuntu2 of blender.
My graphics card is an ATI Radon Rv250.
When I tried to open it simply by clicking the icon, it shows a brief flash
of a border then disappears.
when I try to use the terminal to get a decent report of whats going on
(running 'blender' in terminal), it says, 'getting python scripts. done!' or
something of the sort, it then flashes a black screen and, after a brief period
of the startup loading screen, enters the login stage.

  Thanks for any help.
