Those guides had you installing the new version of gimp from a PPA. To do that, you must first uninstall all packages related to gimp. Additionally, this is not a valid bug since installations from PPAs are not officially supported. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1772769 package gimp-plugin-registry (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/wavelet-decompose', which is also in package gimp 2.10.2+omg-0ubu18.04.1~ppa ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1772769 package gimp-plugin-registry (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/wavelet-decompose', which is also in package gimp 2.10.2+omg-0ubu18.04.1~ppa ** Changed in: gimp-plugin-registry (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1772769 package gimp-plugin-registry (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/wavelet-decompose', which is also in package gimp 2.10.2+omg-0ubu18.04.1~ppa -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Studio Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp-plugin-registry in Ubuntu.
