Matching subscriptions: Ubuntu Studio Bugs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1044923 Title: Audacious freezes when playing mp3 from a smb share mounted with cifs fs Status in Audacious: New Status in audacious package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hello, audacious, the musik player, freezes totally and reproducibly when I try to play a mp3 file which resides in a directory mounted on a filesystem of type cifs (i.e. a samba share/windows share). I am using LM13 Maya 64 bits, Mate desktop. However when the filesystem in question is mounted with the noserverino option (see man mount.cifs) then everything works fine. Shameless cut&paste from the man page: noserverino Client generates inode numbers itself rather than using the actual ones from the server. See section INODE NUMBERS for more information. I don't know why audacious freezes with inode numbers from the server and works with locally generated inode numbers. And I strongly suspect that this problem also exists in upstream ubuntu 12.04. Can somebody maybe verify ?
