Hi Erich, I am continuing to test the beta version, so that I can better understand the problem and ask for help. I did re-install one of the jammy jellyfish builds (from about 2-3 weeks ago) and I could install it with EFI. I also tried to install the beta version on VirtualBox on a different computer; it did not work, and acted exactly the same as on my primary computer. I also realized that, in the bug report, I did NOT state that I enabled the virtual machines to be in EFI mode by (1) checking the "enable EFI (special OSes only) box on the System>Motherboard tab in VirtualBox, or by including "firmware = "efi" " in the .vmx file for the VMWare player. Enabling EFI seems to be the critical step. So, I have to ask, did you do this also? If not, would you please try the install again? I am very concerned since all of my computers are EFI, and I do not want to have the install crash when I try for real
Thanks a lot. I know you are busy with the upgrade. I truly appreciate all you and the team do with Ubuntu Studio, since it has been my primary OS since about Ubuntu Studio 14.04. I used the same settings that I have previously used to install Ubuntu Studio on both virtual machines and computers. I was also successful installing previous versions of Ubuntu Studio 22.04 (alpha versions) with the settings. When I try the install, I can click "Install Ubuntu Studio"; the screen then changes to a blank screen. My UEFI settings are: 512 Mb FAT32 boot, ~15 Gb root, ~25 Gb home.
