Thanks for closing this bug; maybe it would be possible to add some wording apologising for not getting around to it? The way this particular message is worded it looks as though it's telling the user "you dummy, you reported a bug in an out-of-date version of Ubuntu", rather than "sorry, we didn't manage to get around to this bug you filed 15 years ago". (Debian have some such wording in the message they post when a package is removed from their repos.)

There is about 1Gb of sound data files. Audacity consumes about 10% of CPU, and the X server about 85% while this is happening; if I kill audacity, the X usage goes back to normal (roughly 0%).
