Hey,
since this is tracked against the release milestone we wanted to double check

Utkarsh pinged Simon Quigley on Matrix and Simon answered [1]:

"""
Cala already fixed
Must have forgotten to update paperwork but I'd appreciate a confirmation from
Leó Kolbeinsson
"""

Let me do the required paperwork to the bug then.
We can't change old changelogs, so all that s left marking this as fix relased
according to the statement above.

But also @Leó if you can re-verify it that would be appreciated just to
be sure.

P.S. the is.mirror being slightly outdated also caused some other issues
in subiquity now fixed - but that is unrelated.

Title:
  [RC] Calamares pkgselectprocess: apt command failed and install
  crashed

Status in calamares package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  [Core issue]

  Package: libreoffice-help-is
  State: not a real package (virtual)
  Notice: Can't select candidate version from package libreoffice-help-is as it
has no candid>
  Notice: Can't select versions from package 'libreoffice-help-is' as it is
purely virtual
  Notice: No packages found

  checkpackage-backend (CPBE) is still somewhat naive, it needs to learn
  about how to deal with virtual packages properly.

  [Steps to cleanly reproduce for non-Icelandic speakers]

   1. Start the live ISO for Lubuntu Plucky 20250410.1 or 20250411.
   2. Select "Try Lubuntu."
   3. Use the key combo "Ctrl + Alt + T" to open the terminal.
   4. One of: `sudo{{vim,nano,emacs}, -E {featherpad,kate}}
/etc/calamares/modules/pkgselect.conf` (where the braces represent one of
several options you may select, recursively.)
   5. Under `regular_install_packages:` (in the same format as the other
packages), add "    - libreoffice-help-is", then save/edit the file.
   6. In a terminal, run `sudo -E /usr/bin/calamares-launch-normal` (which is
the command in the `Exec` line of `~/Desktop/lubuntu-calamares.desktop`).
   7. Assuming you have an internet connection, continue through all menus with
all current settings (with the exception of keyboard, language, and
partitioning as necessary, that doesn't matter). You *must not* select Minimal.
   8. Open Debug -> GlobalStorage -> installation_data -> packages_to_install
-> (some integer) and confirm that "libreoffice-help-is" is an item. This is
intended, even after the fix.
   9. Wait <= 5 minutes.

  [Steps to cleanly reproduce for Icelandic speakers]

   1. Start the live ISO for Lubuntu Plucky 20250410.1 or 20250411.
   2. Select Icelandic as your language on the Try/Install prompt screen.
   2. Select "Install Lubuntu."
   3. Assuming you have an internet connection, continue through all menus with
all current settings (with the exception of keyboard, language, and
partitioning as necessary, that doesn't matter).
   4. Open Debug -> GlobalStorage -> installation_data -> packages_to_install
-> (some integer) and confirm that "libreoffice-help-is" is an item. This is
intended, even after the fix.
   5. Wait <= 5 minutes.

  [Steps to cleanly reproduce just the standalone script causing the
  problem]

  Good:
  $ /usr/libexec/checkpackage-backend hello firefox libreoffice-help-is
  hello firefox

  Bad:
  $ /usr/libexec/checkpackage-backend hello firefox libreoffice-help-is
  hello firefox libreoffice-help-is

  (This is, unless, of course, we can satisfy the virtual dep.)
