Status in Ubuntu Studio: New Bug description: After selecting the software packages to install (2/3d suite, audio suite, audio plugins and video suite) then selecting 'continue', the installation begins but soon breaks with a red screen and error message indicating "Installation step failed" (screenshot attached: lucidInstallFailMessage.png). Variations of install: * attempted selecting no packages, but failure continues to occurs * attempted selecting single packages (ie. 2/3d suite only), but failure continues to occur Installation details and environment: * Tested using Lucid daily build December 17th and earlier. * VBox and VMware (1gb ram 80gb hd) * i386 "entire disk" install Syslog indicates an "aptitude fail" and "unmet dependencies" referencing xserver and gdm.
