I think that as of Alpha 1 Natty (12/1) this bug causes the program to load without any kind of window manager at all. I just installed it and the screen is entirely blank. In addition, CTL-F1 to get xterm and CTL-F2 do not have any function. To get any functionality at all, I had to right-click and create a launcher, and brought up gnome-terminal that way.
