I wanted to see whether standard Ubuntu Natty  (not Studio) alternate
installer behaves the same and created an installation CD from Natty
image.   Surprise:  That one works ok even with separate partitions.
That makes me to think there is some problem related either to that
Ubuntu Studio installer which may be related to the fact the
installation disk is DVD, not CD.

  Installer fails if separate partitions / and /home are created during 
installation.  Error message misleading indicates corrupted files on 
installation DVD:

  Debootsrap warning
  ///cdrom/pool/main/e/eglibc/libc6_2.13-0ubuntu13_amd64.deb was corrupt
  Couldn't download package libc6
  .
  .
  .
  (long list of similar failures)
