Hi Tongyun,

Many thanks for your email and the great initiative. Indeed, with UK
Government capping the number of working permits to as little as 24,000 for the
entire country regardless of seniority and positions comparing to hundreds of
thousands each year before, and it is also more difficult for graduates to
apply for the postgraduate working experience visa therefore, many of the
Chinese students and scholars may find China offering much better opportunities
offered by Chinese organisations and employers where they do not experience
certain discrimination that most foreigners including many Chinese experience
in the working places where “foreigners” are rarely promoted to middle or
senior management level. Indeed this is one of the main reasons many Chinese
eventually chose to find better career path in China or Hong Kong.

However, those who decide to go home first without securing an employment
prospect often being wrongly treated as 海归 OR 海待. Therefore, much better
option is for Chinese students and scholars to secure potential employment
BEFORE returning to China by taking advantage of recruitment events that are
organised by Chinese authorities and companies. During such events students are
scholars are regarded as talents and sought after often with lucrative
offerings and many benefits that once becoming 海归 OR 海待 will not receive. So
students are scholars who wish to find out what best positions are available
are warmly welcome to attend such recruitment events that we are happy to
support such as
