the regional representative for a non-profit organization PEER (peer
experience exchange rostrum). It is the annual recruitment season, and I'd

Peer Experience Exchange Rostrum (PEER) is a non-profit organization
dedicated to bring equal opportunity for higher education to secondary
school students in rural China. In particular, we work with teachers and
students from low-income and ethnic minority areas in southwestern China.
through integrative summer programs focusing on *liberal arts in a rural
setting *and *service-learning.*
PEER’s summer program for rural secondary school students, first started in
2007, cherishes the values of independence, creativity, teamwork, and
citizenship through our student centered *“PEER Method”.*
PEER members come from various top universities from all over the world,
including Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Princeton, Tsing Hua and Peking
University.

*“挚友计划 **Peer Experience Exchange Rostrum”**（**PEER**）**，*
中国支援教育与服务学习的践行者，是由海外中国留学生和中国知名高校学生发起、组织的非营利组织。 至2007年成立以来，
PEER以传播*博雅教育*（libral art education）到中国*欠发达地区的中学生*
为使命，以实践服务学习（service-learning）为主旨， 每年7、8月在中西部地区的3-4个定点初高中举办为期*14-21天的暑期支教项目*
。在暑期项目中，挚愿者们将有机会通过*完全自主*的*设计并策划*一系列目标明确、方法清晰的课程和活动让学生们体会并学习培养*
批判性思维能力、团队协作能力、社会责任感*
。我们相信，这一模式能够集中有效地为该地区提供新的教育资源，帮助农村学生冲破现实条件的限制，在更高的起点上把握人生、融入社会。
到目前为止，已经有超过730名高中生从PEER中收益。在这四年的时间里，PEER在获得良好的学生反馈与学校的强烈支持同时，也在逐步扩展自己的影响力。如今，PEER“挚友计划”已经有来自全球8个国家53所学校超过140名挚愿者队伍，并且在海外留学生群体中享有一定的口碑.
